Does the solver just tell me today's Wordle answer?
No. It only uses the clues you type in. It filters the 5-letter words that still fit your green, yellow and gray letters and ranks the best next guess, so you still solve today's Wordle yourself.
What is the best starting word for Wordle?
Measured by information gain against the 2,315-word Wordle answer list, SOARE (5.89 bits) and ROATE (5.88) are the strongest openers, but neither can be the answer. RAISE is the best opener that can also win: 5.88 bits, about 61 answers left on average and never more than 168. SLATE, CRATE and TRACE are close behind.
How does the solver pick the best next guess?
Every candidate word is scored by how well it splits the remaining answers into different color patterns. Entropy maximizes the average information gained, Expected minimizes the average number of words left, and MinMax minimizes the worst case.
How do I enter green, yellow and gray letters?
Type yellow letters into "Letters that fit". The solver keeps only words that contain them. Put green letters into the five tiles in their exact positions, and gray letters into "Letters that don't fit".
Does it work for Wordle in other languages?
The Wordle mode uses English 5-letter words. There is also a Finnish mode for Sanuli, the Finnish version of Wordle.
